Our Curriculum

Our school age program offers fun weekly themes that align with Ohio’s K-12 state standards. We use the Second Step curriculum. It is a research-based program specifically designed to meet the needs of our out-of-school time (OST) programs. Built on the foundation of our trusted Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs, this curriculum helps teach social-emotional skills like community-building, empathy, kindness, and growth mindset in our youth.

The YMCA youth summer learning experience includes activities in the following areas:

  • Arts & humanities
  • Character development
  • Large motor & fitness
  • Literacy
  • Science and Math
  • STEM
  • Nutrition
  • Service-Learning Projects

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland offers needs-based scholarships to help make Summer Day Camp accessible for families. Scholarship awards may cover up to 95% of camp fees for those who qualify and are determined using several factors, including annual household income, the number of adults in the home, and the number of dependents.
